With the goal of providing greater access to education and helping children and young people continue their studies at the basic, upper secondary, and higher education levels, Fundación Posadas invites students enrolled in an officially recognized public or private educational institution to apply for an educational scholarship through the “Una Oportunidad para Estudiar” program for the 2026-2027 school year.
The “Una Oportunidad para Estudiar” scholarship includes:
Financial Support: MXN $20,000 per year, distributed in two payments (the first in February and the second in September). The scholarship begins when the student starts the school year and, if the continuation requirements are successfully met, the scholarship may be renewed for the following school year.
SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION PERIOD
Fundación Posadas will accept scholarship applications from September 30 to October 30, 2026.
Requirements:
- Be a Mexican citizen.
- Be enrolled in elementary school, middle school, high school, a bachelor’s degree program, or a technical program.
- Have a minimum final grade average of 8.5 out of 10 for the previous school year.
- Attend an officially recognized public or private school during the 2026-2027 school year.
- Be between 6 and 21 years old at the time the scholarship application is completed.
- Only one applicant per family may apply.
- Come from a household with a monthly income equal to or less than three times the current general monthly minimum wage.
Application
- To participate, you must complete all required information and submit the requested documents.
- Over the following weeks, Fundación Posadas will carefully review all completed applications.
- During this period, “Conexión Laboral,” our socioeconomic assessment provider, may contact you at any of the phone numbers provided to schedule a virtual appointment to conduct the assessment. It is therefore important that you and your parent or legal guardian remain attentive to any communication.
Only applications that meet all requirements and are submitted correctly and within the established deadline will be considered.
Documents and information
Please prepare the following for your application or your child’s application:
- Read the Privacy Notice provided in “Terms and Conditions” or at the beginning of the application form. If you agree, select “Yes” in the application questions containing the following statements:
- “I authorize Fundación Posadas, A.C. to use my sensitive personal data in accordance with the provisions of the Privacy Notice.”
- “I authorize Fundación Posadas, A.C. to share my personal data and sensitive personal data with third parties in accordance with the provisions of this Privacy Notice.”
- Active personal email address. Only one email address per application.
- It is very important to check your email regularly, as Fundación Posadas will send you follow-up communications regarding your application.
- Documents and information for the parent or legal guardian:
- Official identification: INE voter ID, passport, or valid driver’s license (only if the applicant is under 18 years old).
- Proof of income from the previous month for all household members who financially support the applicant. If proof of income is not available, request an income certificate from the local municipal authority where the family resides (applicable to all applicants), or download and complete the “Income Verification Letter” template included in the application form.
- Documents and information for the applicant:
- Birth certificate if the applicant is under 18 years old, or INE voter ID / valid driver’s license if the applicant is 18 or older.
- Official final report card for the 2025-2026 school year (typed or computer-generated, with the school’s stamp, date and signature, or a QR code).
- Proof of address for the applicant’s current residence, issued within the last 3 months (water, electricity, or telephone bill).
- CURP.
- Information about the school where the applicant is enrolled.
Make sure you have the documents saved on your computer or mobile device when completing your application. They must be in PDF format and smaller than 12 MB.
Finalist selection process
Fundación Posadas’ Governing Committee will select scholarship recipients, giving priority to applicants with the greatest financial need. If the number of applications exceeds the available resources, applicants will be selected according to the following criteria:
- Applicants who received the scholarship during the previous school year and wish to renew it.
- Applicants with the greatest financial need.
- Applicants with a grade average above 8.5 (on a scale of 0 to 10).
- Any situation not covered by these criteria will be resolved by Fundación Posadas’ Governing Committee.
